Use the Internet to obtain information, instruction and applications
The Internet is a wonderful resource. Out there somewhere there is almost sure to be a tutorial about your favourite application, be it a word processor, photo retoucher, email client or almost anything else. The quality of these tutorials varies greatly, but almost all are useful to someone starting off. Many of them are free, others are available for a fee and still others require membership of a particular organisation, which, in turn, is subject to a fee.
At the left you will find some buttons. Microsoft Office tutorials will be found under BayCon and Electric Teacher, as well as MS Office 2000. The other buttons are self-evident. If you know of other tutorials or training sites that you think should be in our list, then drop a quick email to the Webmaster and we'll check them out.
For some excellent senior-oriented tutorials in plain language, consider joining SeniorLink, an Australian organisation devoted to those over-55s who have taken up computing late in life.
You'll also find links to download sites where you can find thousands of programs. Check out the links to seniors sites. There you will find links to organisations and services for those 50+ and no longer working full time.
