The Group has an email list not only for members' use, but for computer users everywhere. However, you must subscribe and confirm your subscription to join it. Messages lodged by non-subscribers will only be accepted at the discretion of the Moderator. Subscribe by clicking this link.

How you can use the list
Incoming messagesIncoming messages will be addressed to hcug-message(at)hobartpcgroup.org.au. Because of the internal security measures we have in place, this can be taken as a guarantee that it is an approved message. Never mark such messages as spam or junk. If you don't want a particular message, simply delete it. If you don't want to receive messages from the Group anymore, unsubscribe from the list (see below). Join our email listTo join the list, email the Webmaster, giving your name and email address. Once you submit your subscription, you will receive an email asking you to confirm. Reply to that and you're a subscriber! This procedure is necessary to prevent others from signing you up when you don't want to. Changing your addressTo change the email address you use for the email list, you send an email to the moderator(at)hobartpcgroup.org.au, who will amend our records and confirm by sending an email to your new address. If your new address is not immediately effective, you will need to make that clear in your email. UnsubscribingTo remove your email address from the list, email the moderator(at)hobartpcgroup.org.au who will remove your address from the list and confirm by emailing you. NB: If you change your email address without notifying the list manager, your subscription will be temporarily suspended until your new email address is made known to him/her. Privacy policyNames of subscribers are only available to authorised members of the Management Committee and list managers. They are not supplied to other organisations and the list record is stored securely by our web host. Nevertheless, we do advise you to go to http://www.spammotel.com and take a disposable email address, if you have any concerns over our privacy policy. If that disposable address falls into the wrong hands, you can easily cancel it and sign up again with a new one. As a further precaution, use one of our email aliases when you apply for the disposable email address. This gives you two ways of "pulling the plug" on spammers. Note: Group Members' email addresses are added to the list automatically, unless they choose to opt-out of this important service. |
